I hope this letter finds you in good health.
I would like to ask you to consider the following proposal, knowing your interest concerning contemporay art. As history is a pillar of the economy and art plays a very important role in this, I think this global given is best perceived in local entities.
From the late ‘50s until now I have built an archive of my artistic activities. Enclosed you may find a selection of photos of my work.
With the foundation “KODEC” I would like to build an information and study centre in my village in service of future generations.
I live in a small village but I am convinced the immediate environment and culture are ideal conditions to approach other cultures respectfully.
Allow me to suggest you a proposal: I would give my entire archive to you and in exchange I would like to ask for your knowhow and technical and financial support in constructing this centre. The archive remains in Balen and will be accessible for all to see, but would be yours.

Hoogheid,
Uw interesse kennende wat betreft hedendaagse kunst, wil ik u een voorstel doen. Vermits geschiedenis een pijler van de economie is en kunst daar een belangrijke rol in speelt, denk ik dat dit mondiale gegeven best kan bekeken worden via kleine eenheden, mits de juiste spreiding.
Van eind 1950 tot nu ben ik bezig een archief op te bouwen dat de ruggengraat is van mijn artistieke carrière. Ik wil via de stichting KODEC in mijn dorp een informatie- en studiecentrum oprichten ten dienst van de toekomstige generaties. Dat dit in mijn weliswaar klein dorp moet gelegen zijn vindt zijn oorsprong in de overtuiging dat onmiddellijke omgeving en kultuur de beste leermeesters zijn om andere kulturen respectvol te benaderen.
Mijn concreet voorstel is dit: u helpt ons met het technisch/financieel gedeelte en in ruil wordt mijn archief uw eigendom met als voorwaarde dat het in Balen blijft en open staat voor iedereen.

Wij hebben een programma voor de komende jaren en dat is volledig gericht om een kunstklimaat te scheppen in Qatar daarom is Uw voorstel geen prioriteit voor ons.
